A busy OPD does not lose patients because the doctors are slow. It loses them in the gap between the token, the old file, the lab slip and the bill that is still being written when the patient has already left.
Stand at a hospital reception at 9:30 in the morning. The token book is already behind the queue. A patient who came last month is asked to remember the doctor and the tablet. The file, if it is found, is a folder with loose papers. The doctor writes a new slip because the old one is not in the room.
The bill is assembled later. Consultation is on one slip, the lab on another, the pharmacy on a third. If the patient was admitted, the room rent is added from a ward register. GST is calculated when someone has time. Disputes happen at the counter, not in the clinical note, because nobody can show one page that lists what was done.
Pharmacy stock drifts the same way. A strip is issued and the shelf count is updated at night, or not updated. The purchase register says the antibiotic is in stock. The shelf is empty. The next purchase is a guess.
Hospital software is the visit, written once. Registration creates the patient. The doctor sees the last visit. Lab and pharmacy charges land on that visit. The bill the cashier prints is the list of what was actually ordered. Stock falls when the pharmacy issues the item, not when someone recopies the day into a book.
Registration, consultation, lab and pharmacy on the same patient
Last visit and reports open before the doctor calls the name
Room, procedure and pharmacy lines on one invoice
Issue to a patient reduces the shelf, not a separate notebook
Returning patients are treated as new because the old file is in another room or another branch.
The OPD slip, lab requisition and pharmacy bill are three documents, so the final amount is argued at the counter.
Admission, room and procedure charges are added from ward paper after the patient is ready to leave.
Pharmacy stock on the register does not match the shelf, so purchase and expiry are both late.
A second doctor or a visiting consultant has no shared list of who is waiting.
One patient number carries every visit, report and bill. Search works by name, phone or last visit.
Orders placed in the consult, lab or pharmacy post to the same bill. The cashier does not retype them.
Room, package and procedure charges are on the admission, so discharge is a print, not a reconstruction.
Pharmacy issue reduces stock at that moment. Reorder and expiry are visible before the shelf is empty.
The OPD list is shared. Each doctor sees their queue, and the reception sees who has been seen.
We follow one patient from the token to the pharmacy. That path decides which screens go live first. Unused modules stay off.
Doctors, departments, services, room categories and the items the pharmacy actually stocks. GST on the services that need it.
Registration and billing run on the system for a section of the day. Paper stays as a backup until the cashiers trust the total.
Admission and pharmacy join the same patient. We train the night shift separately, because that is when the register usually comes back.
The order is on a slip and the bill is typed later from that slip, or from memory. A lab test or a pharmacy issue gets missed or typed twice. When the order and the charge are the same record, the bill is the list of what was done on that visit.
Yes. A clinic can start with registration, consultation and a simple bill. A nursing home adds beds, rooms and pharmacy. You do not pay for a ward module you do not have. The patient record is the same shape if you grow.
Search by phone number or name brings the earlier visits and reports. The doctor is not handed an empty folder. If the old papers were never digitised, the new visit still starts a record you can use from that day.
Yes. Issuing to a patient, a ward or a department reduces the batch on the shelf. Purchase inward increases it. Expiry is on the batch, so the item that should be used first is the one the screen shows.
Call +91 8271932791 or write to info@ssbconsultancy.com with your bed count or daily OPD. We walk the registration, consult and bill on a call, usually within one business day.

A sample with no barcode, a result typed twice and a patient waiting at the counter. How lab software follows the sample from collection to the report on the phone.

PF, ESI and a duty roster that does not match who was on the floor. How HRMS covers company payroll and the staff records a hospital is asked to show.

Late fees, unmarked attendance and parents calling the office. How school software puts dues, attendance and updates in one place.
