Construction

Site cost and progress still live on phone calls

A contractor with more than one site hears about a delay when the client calls. Material has already been sent, labour has already been paid, and the office still thinks the slab is on schedule.

The problem on the ground

The site engineer tells the owner what happened on a call. The store sends cement because someone asked on WhatsApp. The labour contractor brings a handwritten bill at the end of the week. None of these is the job record. When the client asks why the floor slipped, the answer is reconstructed from those three channels.

The money problem is the same shape. Material left the godown and was used on a different site, or was used and never written. The job cost is whatever the accountant can still find.

Construction software is the job. Work, material issued, labour and a delay note sit on that site for that day. The office does not wait for the evening call to know the pour did not happen.

What keeps breaking

Progress is a phone call, so the office and the client hear different dates.

Material is sent on WhatsApp and booked to the wrong site.

Labour bills arrive weekly with no attendance behind them.

A delay is known on site in the morning and in the office the next week.

Job cost is assembled after the work, from slips that were never filed.

How the software closes it

Each site is a job with the work you are actually doing.

Material issued is booked to that job on the day it leaves the store.

Labour is entered against the day and the work, so the weekly bill has a list behind it.

A stop or a delay is a note on the job the same day, visible to the office.

Cost is the material and labour already on the job, not a file built at the end.

How a setup actually runs

Week 1

Live jobs

The sites that are open now. We do not start with a finished project.

Week 2

Store to site

Material issues name the job. The old slip stays until a week matches.

Week 3

Labour and the day

Who was on site and what moved. The owner reads it without the call.

Later

Another site

A new job is added without mixing its cement with the first one.

Questions this industry asks

Do site engineers have to fill a long report?

No. The day is material received or used, people on site, and what moved or stopped. If nothing moved, that is the entry. A long narrative is not required.

Can the owner see more than one site?

Yes. Each site stays its own job. The owner opens the one that slipped without reading the others.

Does this replace the civil engineer?

No. It records what the site did and what it cost. Drawings, structural decisions and client commitments stay with your team.

What should we bring to a demo?

One site, this week’s material slips and one labour bill. We put that week on the job so you can see the gap you already know about.
